Establishing Our Roots as a Texas Food Distributor
Founded shortly after World War II by Tom Phillips and his brothers, Phillips Food Service, LLC. began with locations in San Antonio and Houston, Texas.
Under the stewardship of his nephew, Gil Phillips, our supply company quickly grew into a four-state supplier of paper and food service products. We began to distribute to a number of large, well-known restaurant chains such as Dairy Queen, Church’s Fried Chicken, Taco Cabana, Pappas, Frenchy’s, Bill Miller Bar B Que, Fajita Junction, Alfonso’s, and Chicken Express. In the 1970’s and 1980’s our company became the food product distributor for chains with as many as 500 stores in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. After consolidation in the fast food industry in the Fall of 1994, we extended our products to include packaging, sanitary papers, and janitorial supplies. This growth saw us expanding past our beginnings, and we branched out to become a master distributor to grocery stores, food processors, meat packers, bakeries, schools, government entities, and even re-distributors. In 2011, Phillips expanded our offerings to include food, making us a one-stop shop for our current and future clients. As a food distributor, we keep our standards for quality products high and our pricing low.

Today, Phillips Food Service is led by Yale Phillips, son of Gil Phillips. Yale, who has been at the helm since 2006, continues to build on our foundation based on integrity.
